Amarillo College is partnering with FCM in this program designed for the men and women in the Hope Discipleship Program as well as the single mothers who reside in the Family Lighthouse. Success University is the first step in preparing students for college.
In the beginning, an assessment test is given to determine each student’s interests and where remedial help is needed. Because many participants do not have a high school diploma or a GED, the AC learning lab helps those in need of remediation until they reach the level of being able to pass the GED test. For those who already have their GED or high school diploma, Success University teaches them the skills they need to be thriving and successful college students.
There are many options offered at Amarillo College which take less than two years. Students can then decide which avenue to take: service representative, pharmacy tech, machinist, phlebotomist, and many more!
