Augustine was brought up with a loving family and opportunity. His addiction began when he was searching for attention and belonging that resulted in him turning to drugs on the streets. Augustine remembers difficult times during his addiction, walking through the back of Faith City’s alley, not understanding what drew him there. At rock bottom, Augustine was tired of living on the streets and ready to go to jail when he found himself at Faith City Mission.
Augustine joined the Hope for Men’s program last year; however, his story is unique as he is currently in the program for the second time. Augustine’s first time in the Men’s Hope program was cut short as he left midway through the program.
Five months later, Augustine found his way back to Faith City realizing, “The possibilities of living a great life aren’t over.” Augustine says, “The first time I came here I didn’t know what to do. The second time I came knowing that my life can really change. The foundation of my true calling starts here as I give my life to God and let him control it.”
